Invited to be one of the performances to close the 29º Inverno Cultural from the Federal University of São João del-rei (UFSJ), Cancioneiro Queer is a cabaret show with songs that span over two centuries.
The repertoire is eclectic, with songs in different styles and by composers of different nationalities, performed with voice, piano, double bass, guitar and drums. Works by the Russian composer Mischa Spoliansky, who created compositions considered to be the first known LGBT anthems, for example, are mixed with songs by composers such as Kurt Weill. Cancioneiro Queer circulates through queer lives and spaces via gay, lesbian and transgender discovery.
The Brazilian repertoire, which in addition to classics such as "Bárbara" and "Geni e o zepelim" by Chico Buarque, presents the song "Imagina", composed for the play A Social (performed at the Parlapatões space in São Paulo in 2015), and Modinhas Imperiais (1831) by afro-Brazilian composer Lino José Nunes (1789-1847).
