Unsterbliche Todeslieder (“Immortal Songs of Death”) was a musical elegy in celebration of songs about death. At this fantastic evening, the emcee, Stephen Bronk, presented the two singers, Sylvia Klein and Marcelo Kuna, along with pianist Kaja Polivaeva. Songs by Mozart, Bach, Ravel, Tom Waits, Raul Seixas, Bizet, Alvarenga/Ranchinho, among others, were interpreted by the artists to ease our collective pain in dark times.
A celebration of death not as an end, but as transformation and rebirth.
